We are proud to launch our Music Production Lessons with Logic Pro X, a unique one-to-one tuition in East London provided by a Certified Music Technology Tutor in Canning Town.
Why Music Production Lessons?
Because we think that you need to put your hands on in order to improve your DAW production skills in no time. You may read our Music Production Guide and getting the main picture, but you still need to practice this knowledge somehow. That’s why we give you the chance to come at Song Like A Pro Studio. You will be able to ask questions, recording with a luxury microphone like the Vintage Neumann U87 and checking the best mic position in a treated environment.
If you want to save valuable time of your life and get straight to the point you are in the right place. Our music production lessons are flexible and can be arranged depending on your particular needs.
Music Production Lessons Topics
We can face together the following topics:
Sound Fundamentals
Knowing the fundamentals of sound is necessary to fully understand the basic of acoustic physics and common behaviours of sound waves.
Analog vs Digital Audio Fundamentals
Before we record a sound the signal is still analog before being converted in bits. Understanding the differences between the digital and the analog world will help you to treat the signal from the former and the latter with intention and under control.
DAW Fundamentals: Logic Pro X Course
There are many Digital Audio Workstation out there. No matter which one you are gonna use. However, Logic Pro X is great to treat audio files, but provides also a great midi editor. A Logic Pro course had to be part of this learning path!
Microphones
Choosing the right microphone is not so trivial, but if you know the main types of microphones, the common usage for each of them, how to read the specs and the good and the bad of some popular models, you will take the best decision.
Vocal and Guitars Recording Techniques
Recording vocals and guitar is more than important for singer-songwriters. If recordings are not made properly the next steps will be more problematic. We will teach the right process for tracking audio with no mistakes.
Sampling with Logic Pro X or Akay MPC X
Sampling has never been so simple. With Logic Pro or our MPC X you will be able to make experiments with your voice or another instrument in a creative way.
Audio Processing Fundamentals
What’s audio processing? What happens when you process an audio signal? We will show you how EQ, compressor, gate, expander work.
Audio Editing Fundamentals
Editing can be very time consuming, but with the right approach, techniques and software you will be able to do it quickly and effectively.
Mixing & Mastering
Mixing and Mastering are the last but not least topics of our Music Production Lessons. With all the knowledge previously provided, you will be able to recognise all the common audio related issues and how to solve them with some practice.
Mixing is not just a technical process, you can use all your creativity during this phase (according with producer’s decisions though). You will make all instruments sound well together with no muddiness or “demo sound”.
Mastering is the last step and requires ears freshness and another kind of approach. You will treat a song as a whole, trying to adjust here and there, but with moderation. Generally speaking, your final goal will be to make the track louder.
